Freight Billing Details

Freight Billing Overview
Set up and edit all delivery ticket information such as customer, producer or consignee information including detailed pickup and delivery instructions. The multi-tabbed screen format make it easy to quickly view all aspects of the freight bill. The screen has (5) five main sections; the header, the products tab, the rating tab, the mileage tab and the drivers pay tab.

The following is a detailed description of each section of the freight billing entry form.

Header Section
The header contains data about who pays for the load and where and when the load is to be loaded and delivered. This data auto-generates data in the detail sections below and are dynamically refreshed after any data changes are made such as change in a driver or truck. Some of the special features in the header are:
  • Auto build first mileage deadhead and line haul base on the trucks last know location.
  • Locate Consignee/Producer feature
  • Ensure driver and equipment compliance by checking key expiration dates for both and informing the dispatcher if any are expired or are coming up in the near future. If a date has expired the information is printed on the freight bill to remind the driver for example; "Your drivers license will expire on July 15, 2003, please make sure you renew this license".
  • MemTrip—Memorized Freight Bill
  • Driver and Equipment Compliance Check and Warning Routine
  • Add of the fly functionality through-out.

Products Tab Section
This tab contains the product data and equipment loading capacities. The total loaded quantity can be delivered to multiply consignees and the values tracked here. The total quantity by product class is forwarded from this page to the rating tab. From this tab the dispatcher can print a copy of the delivery ticket/freight bill for the driver.

Rating Tab Section
All revenue lines are created and edited here. The auto rating system used is very flexible can be set-up to accommodate virtually any rating scenario. The fundamentally utilizes a tiered rating scheme based on products and product classes and are driven by loaded miles. An unlimited amount of special charge codes can be added to the bill including demurrage, special handling, pumping etc. The rating system also handles all special fuel surcharges with ease. The fuel surcharge rates can be adjusted globally and criteria set at the customer level. Special features include:

  • AutoRate, automatically rates all loads from either the contract rate tables or the system tariffs as set at the customer level.
  • Load Match, this is a report of all previous loads between the current origin to the current destination. Usually solves the problem of using the wrong customer code.
  • Contract Match, this is a report of all Rates between origin city and destination city
  • Quote Interface shows auditor all quotes for the current customer.
  • Auto Add New Contract Rate on the fly.
  • Current Rate vs. Base Rate Comparison.
  • City Based Rating Continuity, ensures all rates from point A to city B are rated the same regardless of loaded miles.
  • Auto rate increase routine.
  • Auto fuel tax application routine.

Mileage Tab
All mileage and time are collected on this screen. The system automatically creates the first deadhead from the last known truck location to the point of loading on the current freight bill. The line haul is created as soon as the destinations are created. To bring the driver back to his home terminal is as simple as clicking the Home button. Adding the odometer readings and actual times are also entered here. A user can add or edit any route from this screen and also call the default mileage program. PC Miler is currently the standard.

Drivers Pay Tab
All the drivers pay information is stored on this screen. The system automatically pays a driver based on his pay profile set-up up in the employee file. Some of the ways a driver can be paid are; hourly loading, hourly other, super miles, semi-miles, flat rate, percentage of revenue, flat zone pay based on consignee. Any driver information can be reviewed or edited from this screen. The dispatcher can access the drivers phone list report from this screen.
